Located in Los Angeles County in Southern California, La Verne is a community of around 30,000 residents. La Verne real estate is situated in the 2nd district of Los Angeles County, and the city of Los Angeles is accessible within about 35 minutes. With a history that traces back to the 1930s with a land grant made by Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado, the community of La Verne has in recent years decreased in population slightly. Shopping and Dining

Malls that are conveniently located to La Verne real estate include the Brea Mall in nearby Brea (which is about 20 minutes from La Verne) and the Westfield Valencia Town Center in Valencia. Parks located in town include Las Flores Park along 8th Street and Bolling Avenue, Lincoln Park on White Avenue, and Pelota Park along Wheeler Avenue. Further afield, residents of La Verne real estate can enjoy outdoor recreation at several larger state and regional parks, including Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park at the Puddingstone Reservoir and Chino Hills State Park located to the South. The community of La Verne has likely shown decreases in population in recent years due to the high cost of living of the area. The average household income in the area is over $10,000 more than it is in California on average, and home values in La Verne are around $60,000 more expensive in La Verne than in the rest of the state. While Los Angeles is located within 35 miles of La Verne, this is not the only large city of more than 140,000 located nearby. In addition, the city of Pomona is located less than four miles to the South and East San Gabriel Valley is located about six miles to the West.

Schools, Health, and Transportation

The youngest residents of La Verne real estate can receive their education at one of the public elementary schools in the area, including J. Marion Roynon Elementary School on E Street, Oak Mesa Elementary School on Wheeler Avenue, Grace Miller Elementary School on Holly Oak Street, or La Verne Heights Elementary School on Baseline Road. These schools are all run by the Bonita Unified School District.

Once they have completed elementary school, La Verne students can go on to study at Lone Hill Middle School, Ramona Middle School, San Dimas High School, or Bonita High School. Parents wishing to send their children to private school can consider Damien High School, which is a Catholic institution that is found at Damien and Bonita Avenues in La Verne. For continuing studies, students do not have to leave the area after completing secondary school. The University of La Verne on 3rd Street offers university level studies in the city of La Verne.

The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center located on North Garey Avenue is one of the closest healthcare institutions for those residing in La Verne real estate. Other nearby hospitals include the California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles and the Canyon Ridge Hospital in Chino.

Public transportation is provided in La Verne by the Los Angeles County Transit Authority. For transportation to other cities, passengers can journey by rail from the Amtrak station on North Garey Avenue in Pomona or by bus from the Greyhound station located less than 10 minutes away in Claremont. Several airports are located near the city including LA/Ontario International Airport, John Wayne Airport, and Burbank Bob Hope Airport.
